Menstrual Dignity
for Every Girl
and Woman.

Mkhana Collective works with partners to expand access to safe, sustainable menstrual health solutions across Kenya through consistent, year-long support.

Our Story

A social enterprise built for lasting menstrual health impact.

Mkhana Collective is a Kenyan social enterprise advancing menstrual health, dignity, and access through sustainable and community-driven solutions. Many girls and women still lack consistent access to safe menstrual products affecting their education, confidence, health, and daily participation.

We focus on practical, scalable solutions: locally sourced sanitary products, structured kit distribution, menstrual education tools, and partnerships built for long-term impact. Our model ensures girls and women are supported throughout the year not just once.

Practical solutions that keep girls in school and in life.

Our Approach
Our Approach

Consistency is what creates lasting dignity.

Many girls receive one-time support that runs out within months. Mkhana focuses on year-long access — ensuring every girl we reach has what she needs every month, not just once. Our model is built around reliable access to sanitary products, menstrual education, and community-based distribution.

Mkhana Kit
Mkhana Kit

One kit. One year. Complete support.

The Mkhana Kit is a complete menstrual health solution designed to support one girl or woman for a full year. Each kit includes 30 packets of sanitary pads and a Bloom Period Journal for tracking and education — everything she needs to manage her health with dignity.

Bloom Journal
Bloom Journal

Track cycles. Build confidence. Learn.

The Bloom Period Journal helps girls and women track their menstrual cycles, learn about their bodies, and build confidence in managing their health. It is especially useful in areas with limited access to digital tools — a simple, powerful companion.

Distribution
Distribution

Reaching girls and women where they are.

Our kits are distributed through schools, community programs, and partner-led initiatives — ensuring they reach those who need them most. We work with local organisations, NGOs, and community partners to build distribution networks that make access consistent and dependable.

Our Vision

A Kenya where no girl misses school because of her period.

We work with organisations and individuals committed to improving menstrual health access. Mkhana is growing its work to reach more girls and women through expanded partnerships and increased distribution of sustainable menstrual health solutions across Kenya and beyond.

You can get involved by sponsoring Mkhana Kits, partnering on community programs, funding menstrual health initiatives, or supporting distribution efforts. We collaborate with corporates, NGOs, foundations, and community organisations.
